Unofficial Poll...

Does anyone out there still read Xangas?

Right now I could be on my way to New York for HDH and the celebration at East Garden and all, but for some reason I decided to go to a swing dance that cost fifteen dollars to get in, just to get stuck dancing with old sweaty santa-claus men who smelt of ketchup (ask Kjersti or Johil). When I finally realized that I really wanted to go to New York for some good ol' spiritual renewal and such, it was too late... Man I suck!

If anybody who reads this went to the whole East Garden thing today, let me know what I missed. Maybe next time I will make the right decision a little quicker.

I have my final paper for art history due the day after tomorrow and I have not written one word for it.

That being said, I have been having a lovely time in Italy. Yesterday, for example, was a holiday here, and I went to a picnic with the church members in Padova (the next big city outside of Venice). It was at this lady Christa's house in the country, and my lovely friend Krys from South Carolina came with me. We went on a walk and I fell asleep in a wheat field while she took pictures of random stuff. It was sweet.

My school here in Venice is having the end of the year show, so I have a few pieces in that, and back in Boston my big painting from last semester was put up for the show there, and will probably stay up next year (as my other big painting did this year). Anybody in Boston can go to the opening on Friday May 11th at six at the College of Fine Arts (855 Commonwealth Ave). Of course I won't be there, but it might be interesting and you will get some free refreshments if you get there early enough!

Ok now I am really going to write my paper. Hopefully.

I just got back from my visit with Carol and Hunki in Switzerland today.... about six hours ago actually. It was so nice, and now it's back to reality. Anyway, I had a long list of stuff to do when I got home, but I think I did only one thing on the list, which just involved writing an email... everything else required too much concentration, and I really have no attention span today so I couldn't abide any sort of real work. Now I am just fooling around before I get to bed... I am quite lazy today, eh?

Anyway I haven't written on here for so long... I think it is because I feel obligated to put up pictures, but it is so annoying to upload pictures on here in comparison to facebook, and even facebook takes quite long and is often too much trouble for me! I just can't be bothered with that sort of thing unless I really have free time or really want to procrastinate!

In conclusion: to whoever visits my site regularly, be prepared for rambling posts with few or no images from now on. Maybe I will be inspired at some point to do more. We'll see.

By the way, Happy (late) Easter everyone!!!!

Venice....

I've been in Venice for several weeks now.... It is really beautiful. However, it's not completely a dream. I have to do some work, too! My classes are: painting, two printmaking (woodcut and lithography), Italian, and Art History.

I really love the Art History class, because every week we go to different churches as well as other buildings in Venice and in other cities (on field trips). The teacher, Christina, shows us around and tells us everything we should know about the art and architecture we see. In other words, the whole class is like a guided tour to Venice and other Italian cities, except that we have to take notes )and will be tested on it all later!)

It has been cold the whole time basically, so I haven't been painting outside much. Okay, really I haven't been painting much at all yet. (What a bad student, eh?) I did this our first class... it's a really small oil on canvas paper. I was in San Marco square (part of the church is in the picture on the right).....

Okay I am feeling random so here is a good pic for that, also from San Marco square.....

Umm... here is a better one since it has the church of S. Marco in it.
